What we collect
When you place an order, we collect your name, email, billing and shipping addresses, and payment information. Payment information is processed by our payments partner (Stripe) and is not stored on our servers.
When you write to the studio via the contact form, we collect what you tell us — your name, email, optional phone number, and the contents of your message.
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address.
When you visit any page, our hosting provider records standard request metadata (IP, user-agent, request path, timestamp). We retain this for 30 days, then delete it. We do not use third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies.
Why we collect it
Order data is used to fulfil your order and meet legal obligations (tax records, returns). Contact-form data is used to reply to you. Newsletter data is used to send the newsletter. Request metadata is used to diagnose problems and protect against abuse.
Who we share it with
We share data only with vendors who help us run the studio: our payments processor (Stripe), our shipping partners (DHL, UPS), our email provider (Resend), and our hosting provider (Vercel). We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, ever.
How long we keep it
Order records: seven years (legal requirement). Contact messages: 24 months, then deleted. Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. Request logs: 30 days.
Your rights
Under the GDPR (EU), the UK GDPR, and the CCPA (California), you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it if it's wrong, to port it elsewhere, and to ask us to delete it. Email studio@blackwhitegray.archive with the subject "Privacy request" and we will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
We use a single first-party cookie to remember the contents of your bag between visits. We do not use any third-party cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies.
Changes
If we materially change this policy, we will note the change here and update the "last updated" date above.
